When it comes to completing missions it’s hard to have any clue what you are meant to be doing. There is no real guide, but basically if you fight using one character for long enough in a variety of matches you’ll max out a popularity meter and get to play in a Title match. You then have to do the same with each different character. You’ll unlock evil versions and superstar versions of each of the 11 girls but there are no new characters to find.
There is one interesting match type and it brings us to the more interesting elements of RR XX in general. Queen’s Match is a mode of play that’s basically the same as the rest but with the proviso that which ever girl loses has to perform some action decided before the game. This can range from limbo dancing to pretending to be a cat to doing a sexy dance. There are tons of things you can make the characters do to humiliate them for losing. It’s pretty funny and some of the moves are quite sexy but over all it kinda makes you feel a bit… icky.
The over- sexualisation of the characters is just a bit much really, and after having a bit of a laugh it wears thin pretty quickly. You can also make the girls pose for you in Photo mode after unlocking the camera and some outfits for your girls. You can take the photos online and swap them with your mates or simply peruse the gallery to see what other gamers have made their characters do. Again, it’s just a bit seedy.
When it comes to the online play, don’t bother. Despite supposedly being able to play some good tag team matches with the special Double X tag team moves of the title, you’ll find it nigh on impossible to actually find anyone to play with. The Live mode for this game appears to be absolutely dead. Apparently those who do like Rumble Roses online have now satisfied their desire, are mere husks of their former selves and can no longer lift their hands to play.
Ultimately there’s just isn’t enough titillation here to make up for a poor game underneath all that flesh. If they had spent more time on the game then it might be worth playing. Don’t get us wrong, we’re in no way prudish. It’s just that if you are going to make a game for naughty purposes you might as well go grab
Virtually Jenna. RR XX is the equivalent of one of those 80’s style motorcycle calendars with the topless rock chick model straddling it. It’s a bit tasteless and tacky and doesn’t have enough going for it to press
any of your buttons.
